If you want to learn proper industry level VFX then join the VFX Institute/school. This is one of the most important steps to get into this industry. It’s not necessary if you go to a highly reputed school then you will get your dream job. Not at all it totally depends on the instructors they will teach you every technique.
Currently, you are a beginner in these fields if you will get proper knowledge about CG software and digital production art it helps to build up your career in the VFX industry. Before joining the school search it on Google see the reviews from former students. Ask them about their curriculum and facilities for doing practice in the school. Go to the practice lab and see how many computers are available for practice. VFX School is the place where you will get to know about competition when you will go for the job.
2. Showreel
It doesn’t matter in which school you have learned VFX, they are only interested in your showreel. As a fresher, if you wants a job in the VFX industry then you must have your portfolio. They will select you based on the work which you have shown in your portfolio.
A common mistake every student do is copying work from other showreels. You must create your own artwork and represent it in the breakdown. Most of the students are not able to communicate properly with team members, because they feel shy or nervous. Improve your communication skills to express your ideas and thoughts in front of others. In the company, we work as a team, every team member coordination helps to deliver work faster.
